'Everywhere' gameplay trailer shows off an ambitious sandbox with a Fortnite aesthetic
Build a Rocket Boy has unveiled a new trailer for Everywhere, an ambitious sandbox title that will enable players to build their own experiences and explore others. If that sounds a bit like Fortnite on the surface, just wait until you see the art style. It looks very much like Epic's game, right down to the stylized character models. The clip provides the first look at gameplay. It's clear Everywhere has much more to offer than shooting and driving around pretty landscapes -- the trailer shows a skeeball game and one character dodging obstacles in a gauntlet.
Stunning 'Black Myth: Wukong' trailer shows off Unreal Engine 5 gameplay with DLSS on
A year after it wowed many with its first gameplay video, Chinese developer Game Science Studio is back with an even more impressive look at Black Myth: Wukong. The studio has switched from Unreal Engine 4 to UE5 for the action RPG. According to NVIDIA, it's the first peek at a UE5 game that uses Deep Learning Super Sampling ( DLSS), the company's AI-powered upscaling tech. The 12-minute preview, which you can watch in 4K at 60 frames per second, shows off much more action from the game. It features a couple of stunning boss fights, including one with an electric dragon on a frozen lake.
'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' trailer shows off Xbox Series X gameplay
After a day-long Photoshop teaser and a cinematic trailer, we finally got to see Ubisoft's new Assassin's Creed game in action. During Microsoft's recent Inside Xbox stream, the company showed off gameplay footage of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The trailer had a bit of everything. We got to see Eivor, the game's protagonist, lead an attack on a castle as well as sail a longboat. The trailer also offered a variety of vistas to see, with England's historic Stonehenge making an appearance at one point.
'Westworld' season two trailer shows us what comes next, and when
While Netflix dropped a day-and-date trailer for its Cloverfield flick, HBO has a more traditional reveal for season two of Westworld. Its Super Bowl spot (the first one HBO has ever aired for a specific series) showed off the network's "most-watched freshman series ever" with some new scenes that were interesting without revealing too much about where the show will go. We won't go too deep into the specifics for those who haven't checked out the first season yet, but at least now the vision of robots running amok includes massive mechanical bulls. Richard's been tech-obsessed since first laying hands on an Atari joystick.
New 'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Trailer Shows All The Maps, Multiplayer Modes
EA has released a new trailer for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" and it appears to confirm all the game modes and maps for the upcoming sci-fi shooter. EA has also released the minimum PC requirements for the upcoming Beta, which will commence next weekend. The brand new trailer for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is being narrated by actor John Boyega, who plays Finn in "The Force Awakens" and the upcoming "The Last Jedi" films. The five-minute trailer shows off some new footage, as well as some infographics showing that "Battlefront 2" will indeed have three times the number of locations and vehicles of the 2015 "Battlefront" game. The trailer also touts the new single-player campaign mode, which was actually what Boyega was asking from the 2015 game.
First 'Assassin's Creed' trailer shows the sci-fi plot that sends Michael Fassbender back in time
Fans of the "Assassin's Creed" video game series got a look Wednesday at the first trailer for 20th Century Fox's upcoming film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Fassbender ("X-Men: Apocalypse") plays Callum Lynch, a violent man who finds himself recruited by a corporation and dispatched through ancestral memory as a highly trained killing machine. The film is the latest iteration of the "Assassin's Creed" mythos, which has sold over 80 million copies of its games, as well as several spinoff comics and novels. Joining Fassbender in the cast of the 150-million adaptation are Academy Award winners Cotillard ("La Vie en Rose") and Jeremy Irons ("Reversal of Fortune") as Justin Kurzel, who worked with both Fassbender and Cotillard in his 2015 "Macbeth." While it's clear a large portion of that budget is dedicated to the special effects required to render a live-action version of a video game, it's unclear whether those moments will translate to anything approaching emotional resonance.
